What are footwear modifications?

Stock footwear modification is used to address specific anatomical anomalies such as leg length discrepancies, bunions, hammertoes, to achieve control, support or alleviate symptoms and conditions.

Modifications can be done to the sole, midsole, upper, lining closure or footbed (insole).

Common footwear modifications:
